Work Hard, Play Hard: How We Set Goals and Celebrate Success


At SOL SPA & HOTWORX, we believe that achieving great things requires both dedication and celebration. Our "work hard, play hard" philosophy drives us to set ambitious goals and reward our team with unforgettable incentive vacations when we hit them. This “work hard, play hard” mantra has been adopted by the franchisees of this multi-brand organization as well. The reward and recognition strategy is used to achieve peak performance and increase revenue at the unit level.
Every year, we kick things off by setting SMART goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based. Whether it’s boosting sales, launching a new product, or improving customer satisfaction reviews in the locations, our leadership team collaborates with employees to ensure everyone’s aligned from the corporate and individual location level. Each department has a role to play.
Hitting our goals isn’t just about numbers—it’s about celebrating the people who make it happen. That’s where our incentive vacations come in. When we achieve a major milestone, we are rewarded with a trip. These trips are extended to the Franchisees so that they can set goals for their staff and then provide the trip as an incentive as well. The result is a union of motivated people working together towards a common goal and celebrating their achievements.
Last year, we took a trip to a tropical resort in Cancun. This year we fly to the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana, an incredible all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. These trips aren’t just a pat on the back—they’re a chance to bond, recharge, and create memories that fuel our drive for the next challenge.
This approach does more than just keep us motivated. It fosters a culture of accountability and camaraderie. Knowing there’s a reward like a group vacation on the horizon pushes us to collaborate and innovate. Plus, the shared experience of celebrating together strengthens our team dynamic, making us even more effective when we’re back in the office. Our studio and spa Franchisees and employees love it, too.
As we set our sights on next year’s goals, we’re already dreaming about where success might take us. Whatever the destination, one thing’s for sure: we’ll keep working hard, playing hard, and celebrating every milestone as a team.
